Sweet Summer Meadows in the White Peak

Is there anything more soul-soaring than the prospect of a sweet-smelling summer meadow to walk through? Just over the hill from the cottage, through Sheldon village, gently undulating fields stretch to the horizon, the lush vegetation broken only by slim pathways picked out by previous walkers. This is rich pastureland planted with a beautiful mix of grass and wildflowers. We return often to these meadows in the summer, and head out across the high limestone plateau to Deepdale, Monyash or Magpie Mine.
